EV Integration & Grid Solutions: How to orchestrate EV flexibility for grids and deliver value for all.

As electric vehicle penetration accelerates, grid operators and market actors face growing challenges to integrate EV flexibility in a cost-effective and regulator-aligned way. The 3rd FLOW Thematic Workshop will bring together tools, market solutions and real-life demonstrations from the FLOW project to discuss grid impact assessment, flexibility markets and orchestration strategies. Through technical insights and an interactive exchange, the session will explore how EV flexibility can deliver value for DSOs, consumers and regulators, while supporting replication and sustainable business cases for large-scale EV integration.

Date: February 4th, 2026

Time: 10:30 – 12:30 CET

Format: Hybrid (in-person in Menorca + online)

As electric vehicle penetration accelerates, grid operators and market actors need robust tools and coordinated solutions to ensure cost-effective, consumer-friendly and regulator-aligned deployment. This thematic workshop will present key results from the FLOW project, addressing these challenges through advanced grid planning tools, Flexible Connection Agreements (FCAs) and local flexibility markets.

The session will showcase real-life demonstrations from Rome and Menorca, including grid impact assessment for EV hosting capacity, DSO experiences with flexibility markets, and operational insights from large-scale pilots. It will also highlight ongoing challenges related to grid visibility and short-term EV behaviour forecasting, which remain critical for effective grid operation.

This interactive workshop will combine technical presentations with a roundtable discussion, exploring how different flexibility instruments can be orchestrated, which solutions offer the highest replication potential, and how value can be demonstrated not only for DSOs, but also for consumers and regulators.

Target audience includes:

  • Distribution and Transmission System Operators (DSOs & TSOs)
  • Charging Point Operators (CPOs)
  • Research organisations and innovation actors
  • Market platforms, regulators and policy stakeholders

Participation: Free of charge

Modalities of participation: Register here!

  • Online: connection details will be shared after registration
  • On site: Menorca (during the FLOW General Assembly meeting)
