Role in the project: DTU leads the workpackage for EV Inegration scenarios, elaborates requirements for standardisation and interoperability, collaborates in the development of user centric business models. Finally, DTU leads the Demo in Copenhagen.

The research at Center for Electric Power and Energy, as part of the Technical University of Denmark Electro, addresses the development of a reliable, cost-efficient, and sustainable energy system based on renewable energy. Their research is focused on understanding electric vehicle user behaviour, new methods and models enabling better understanding of storage and EVs in the energy system as well as developing new solutions enabling an efficient integration.

Technical validation and market scalability of EV-grid flexibility services

EV integration continues to expand across Europe, but adoption is hindered by systemic challenges - thus limiting technical performance and market potential of EV as flexibility assets for the grid. The 4th FLOW Thematic Workshop will bring hands-on implementation experiences, technical analyses and regulatory perspectives from European testbeds to explore how services such as V2G, V2B and Behind-the-Meter optimisations can support smarter and more resilient energy systems. Through cross-site insights and expert discussion, the session will examine technical KPIs, scalability pathways and market opportunities for EV flexibility services across different European contexts.

Groundbreaking innovations in V2X technologies from European Partners

As the shift towards sustainable energy systems accelerates, innovations in electric vehicle (EV) charging technologies and grid integration are playing a pivotal role in transforming how energy is consumed and shared. Across Europe, collaborative efforts among leading researchers, industry pioneers, and infrastructure developers are unlocking new possibilities for Vehicle-toEverything (V2X) technologies and smart charging solutions.

Meet our testbed: Copenhagen

Welcome to Copenhagen! In the capital city of Denmark, FLOW will test smart charging across a number of hubs in public and private charging stations. These sites allow for the analysis different consumption patterns, the quantification of the flexibility that can be extracted from each of them, and the testing of price or emissions-based charging or flexibility contracts.
